Healthy switches. (Cont.) There's more...living in the US made me realize how really beautiful my culture is. 🇵🇭 I've been supporting some Filipino-owned shops by doing what I do best---shopping! I have fallen in love with the beauty of the Filipino fashion & handmade goods & now own a couple of them. Got my eyes on an @aranaz_ph tiki shell handbag!
By the way the blazer I'm wearing is a modernized #barongtagalog from @noblecreationsonline . My leather ball cap, Pink Haley heart bag, & #pellemoda shoes are from my ThredUp hauls!
It has been a wonderful year of healthy switches & I'm ecstatic to share all this experience with my Love while learning to treat Earth a little better. 🌍
Whenever we get overwhelmed with all we have to do for @cambio_co, we always try to remember our reason Why. Exploring our #Filipino heritage has allowed us to know ourselves better and to discover beautiful parts of the Motherland, too. Places like Vigan, Ilocos Sur which have opened up our self-discovery 💕⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We love to tell stories of various places that have called out to us. What are the places, near or far, that you’d love to read about on our blog? Let us know in the comments 🗣 #WearYourHeritage

Throwback to our picture post featuring Amanda from September 18, 2017. Congrats to Amanda and Ryan on their recent engagement and a special happy birthday to Ryan! Both have helped Pineapple Industries early on, both have custom barongs named after them and we consider them fam. All the best! Visit pineappleind.com (link in bio) to see the Amanda and Ryan barongs and the rest of our collection. Read our original caption below for barong production times and our measuring and consultations done in various cities. We’ll be in Toronto this weekend, by the way ... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Yup, she's looking at you. When are you finally going to get that barong you've had your eye on? Amanda would like to know. It takes about 6 to 8 weeks to get your barong after we measure you. So let's get started, and you should have your barong in time for Thanksgiving, the holiday season and the new year.
Friends in and around Chicago, come see us at @filipinokitchen's Kultura Festival this Sunday (September 24th) to get measured, to talk all things Barong Tagalog and to experience some of the best Filipino food and culture the Midwest has to offer. New York tri state area, feel free to hit us up for measuring appointments at any time. And look out for upcoming measuring dates in a city near you.
Check out more about our model Amanda, her jusi (silk) barong with its "ethnic" hand embroidered design in gold thread and how to get started on one of your own in blouse or dress length at pineappleind.com (link in bio)

As a woman leader with duties that require much versatility, I felt that my gown at my induction as the 3rd President of the Rotary Club of Makati Premier District captured my dynamic personality. Thank you, Ito Curata for creating this fabulous iteration of a Filipina modern Terno that is meant to impress. Thank you, too, Dave Quiambao for my hair and makeup on that special night. .
Located in the northernmost part of the Philippines, Batanes is known for its cliffs, beaches and a sense of being in another world 💫 Largely spared from urban developments, the entire province is a candidate to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and is definitely one of the most beautiful destinations the islands have to offer 🏝⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What other beautiful Philippine destinations have you visited? 😍 We'd love to hear from you!
Throwback to our corner Filipino store post from September 5, 2017. The short sleeve jusi barong has become quite the popular summer look since we launched. Read the original caption below for facts and tips about how formal it is and how to wear this type of barong. See more on the hand embroidered jusi Steve barong here at pineappleind.com (link in bio). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The short sleeve jusi (silk) barong is that new classic that looks casual but is still dressed up. The Barong Tagalog is, of course, a formal garment at its core. It is the Filipino equivalent of suits and tuxedos. The short sleeve jusi barong is like wearing a suit and shirt without a tie. You can go to the Filipino store to get your cracker nut fix and then head straight to your friend's wedding after that. Make sure you bring breath mints or gum if garlic cracker nuts are your thing. 🙂 Let's not forget to mention that short sleeve jusi barongs are super comfortable during the summer wedding season and just about any other time of the year. And you can get way more uses out of this garment than you think, whether they be Filipino or non-Filipino events, formal or casual, and everything in between. It's just that versatile. See more on our model Steve (@stevenraga), the jusi barong hand embroidered with gold thread named after him (companion piece to the Amanda barong posted yesterday) and how to customize one of your own in short or long sleeve at pineappleind.com (Link in bio). Remember, all barongs are available in short or long sleeves.

Gabi ng kultura or "Night of Culture"... An annual celebration in honor of Buwan ng Wika ot "Month of Language", which is a month meant to promote our National Language. 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Why is language so important? Linguistics or the scientific study of language is greatly influenced by history, culture, social and political factors around the world. ---
This event was held by the Philippine Army Officers' Ladies Inc. to that we can get in touch with our culture more. The benefits will also go to the assistance of wives of the Army Men lost their lives in battle. ---
In light of this event, the theme was Filipino Modern Fashion where they strut their stuff with amazing outfits and dresses.
My challenge for the night was to speak in purely Filipino and it was really a challenge since it isn't my second language 😂😂😂 Swipe left to see my attempt ⬅️⬅️⬅️
