Little personal comic, swipe for full. Been missing the structure that came along with school, but I'm finding my way forward through things, and I'm ready to start the next leg of my journey :) #personal#comic#aboutme#artschool#wee
Love working on top of old paintings and reworking them into something new. Rewriting a history, each of my marks evolving the work. The canvas is just a host body, my mark making is the life it carries. The final piece is just another chapter in the temporary existence of my memory, documenting my touch.
📖🖊back to SCHOOL ~2~
“Charm City Champions”, my Baltimore sports Mount Rushmore.
There were a bunch of athletes that crossed my mind before settling on the finalists like Ed Reed, Brooks Robinson, and Jim Palmer, but I feel that the final four are the true greats of Baltimore sports. From left to right (in order of debut in the professional atmosphere), you have Johnny Unitas, Hall of Fame QB of the Baltimore Colts and the creator of the two minute drill, Cal Ripken Jr., Hall of Fame shortstop of the Baltimore Orioles and record holder for most consecutive games played in MLB and professional sports history, Ray Lewis, two time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and Hall of Fame linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, and Michael Phelps, the winningest athlete in Olympics history.
Baltimore’s a helluva city, and I’m thankful that these titans blessed the greatest city in America with their play.
My apologies. I’m posting this information again due to a major edit. 🙏😌 I'm teaching an ONLINE class this September 5 to December 21 for the Academy of Art University @academy_of_art
