I’m sure we can all find an area of our lives where this can apply. After a long hiatus on the exercise front, I’m slowly starting to enjoy moving my body again, as I wake up early and watch tv while I ride the bike.
As I was making coffee this morning, while the pot was brewing, I made my favourite yummy breakfast, full of goodness, taste and texture.
Yesterday I ate corn thins for lunch, then came home famished. Today I know I’m giving my body goodness for lunch. Ever feel like, "Welp, my day's already screwed up, so what's the point now?"
Today could have gone like that for me. I am a creature of habit, of routine. I love schedules + plans + structure. I could easily be content in a job where I did the same thing day in and day out. (Well, I sorta had that job a year ago and was completely unfulfilled... which is why I left...)
We had a change of plans this morning where I didn't get to do my usual morning routine. I got my workout in and showered after, but my workday started MUCH later than usual.
I used to just throw my plans out the window if my day didn't go "as planned."
But, now that I have a system and structure in place, I was able to have a super productive day, crossing everything off my priorities list, even though my day didn't start as usual.

Hobbies are great self care.
Watching videos about your favorite hobby, or a hobby you are interested in, can also be really great self care.
Your Self Care Idea for today is to go on YouTube and type in your favorite hobby. Or a hobby you are interested in. And watch a video about it!
Pretty easy, right?
And pretty fun.
Reminding yourself about something the brings you pleasure and is refueling and refreshing totally feels like self care, even if you aren't participating in it yourself right at that moment.
Watching other people participate in something we enjoy also raises our happy hormones.

What hobby will you watch today?
I LOVE COOKING and taking this Italian cooking class was one of my favorite experiences in Italy yet. We made bruschetta, homemade pasta, sauces and sage & prosciutto chicken saltimbocca. .
Did you know that authentic Italian food doesn’t use a lot of garlic? Red onion is more of a staple ingredient. And mixing onion and garlic - nope! Also the amount of olive used in food, WOW! When you think you put enough in, add some more!
"Healthy, Happy, Active". Aren't these words we all hope will describe us for the long term?
As I approach my 3 year coaching anniversary, I can't help but think back to where I was before I said yes to this opportunity.
I was kind of healthy and active and pretty happy.
I envisioned myself working weekends for ever, I thought I'd need topical antibiotics to control my acne, and just thought lacking energy was part of being a mom!
Since beginning my journey, I have learned that food affects my body, my energy, my skin, and my mood in huge ways. I NEVER knew that food could affect us like that! 🤷. Exercise affects my mood and energy levels in ways I never would have guessed! Those endorphins from exercise make a huge difference in daily life!🙌 And then lots talk about friendships. As an introvert, meeting people is a pretty hard thing for me.😳 Coaching has encouraged me to meet new people, and I have met some amazing people that I can now call friends!♥️♥️. Listening to personal development daily is a part of my life and that in itself has helped me grow as a person in ways I never would have foreseen.
So, I challenge you. If you struggle with any of the things I have...low energy, acne, maybe a little lonely. Reach out. Let's chat because if this has changed my life in such a big way, I know it can change yours.

As usual in my life, I don’t “fit” one category. I do a little of all three depending on LIFE
When I started my keto journey, it was loads of trial and error. You don’t NEED anything to do keto. Personally, I found the pee strips useful and then graduated to the #ketomojo when I knew this was a lifestyle I wanted to pursue. I like to know and feel for my overall health, it is important to know what my body is doing in the ketone aspect. This has been a great tool for me. Also, I am able to gauge what sources aren’t good for me (coffee syrups, and the numerous keto friendly treats coming out), no guessing
I DO NOT track my macros or my carbs or my calories. Why? Because I needed to re-program and learn a new way to do life. Approaching 2 years of this keto journey, I can finally do life and keep a high level of ketosis. #progressoverperfection is my mantra
Growth doesn't happen overnight. You need a good environment, good mindset and patience. Combining these things with the right support will set you up for self discovery and self growth. One seriously yummy dinner!! Egg roll in a bowl! It makes anywhere from 4 servings to 2 servings, depending on your size, hunger and goals.
16oz. shredded cabbage,
1 lb. ground beef, or turkey or pork
1 onion, chopped
1 T. sesame oil
1 T. rice vinegar
3 garlic cloves, or more (feel free to use jarred if easier)
2 tsp. minced ginger (feel free to use jarred if easier)
3 scallions, chopped & sesame seeds (optional) to garnish
2 tablespoons of spicy mayo, to drizzle over the top at the end
Start by heating up a large skillet or pot and spraying with nonstick cooking spray. Over low to medium heat, sauté the beef and onions and feel free to season additionally with salt and black pepper. While the meat cooks up, use your spatula every few minutes to break up the meat and move around the pan. In the meantime, combine the coconut aminos, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger and garlic in a bowl or jar and set aside. Once meat is about 2/3 cooked through, 5-7 minutes later, add cabbage to the meat mixture, stirring to combine. Cover the pot and cook on low heat for an additional 5-7 minutes, so the cabbage is nice and wilted. Prior to serving, drain excess liquid from the pot (only if you like- I prefer the excess liquid but most people don’t). Pour sesame oil mix over the top and stir to combine. Drizzle each dish with about 1/2 tablespoon of spicy mayo, scallions and sesame seeds, if using. Enjoy!! Let me know if you make it!
