Oh BALLS! It's Laundry day! 😂😂😂 I don't even feel bad at my terrible pun! It's my day to do stuff off work, so I bought new dryer balls today, so I decided to use a new mix of oils in them to make my clothes smell super fresh. I used to use Putity which is still the bomb, but for something different I have mixed Lavender, Tea Tree, and Eucalyptus oils in a dropper and leave that with my laundry stuff. It smells amazing and nice to know that the Tea Trea and Eucalyptus is all locally sourced here in Australia. My house smells good, and hopefully I won't stink you all out while I am doing your hair! 😂
Everything is energy. This is stated in the ancient teachings of Chinese medicine and taught in modern science. In order to understand how we can use this statement to heal, we have to dive deeper into its complexity.
The Five Elements, or Five Phases, are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Each element is associated with different body organs, colors, flavors, senses, emotions, weather, etc. Health is a harmonious balance of all the elements. The same connectivity also applies between different physical parts of the body.
More on each element later... These elements show us how the structures and systems in our bodies are connected to each other, the environment and the natural world and how our world is part of a greater universe. Through our modern life, many people have lost this deep connection to the universe and do not feel this truth resonate in their being. This connection still exists nonetheless.
These elements are also considered the Five Phases of Qi. The Qi of the elements waxes and wanes in daily and seasonal cycles. You can think of each element as the same structure as the Yin and Yang symbol, balance = harmony. (see previous post regarding Yin/Yang). In TCM, the meaning of an individual organ is a larger concept than what we are taught in conventional medicine. TCM considers an organ in its physiological and psychological meaning, which allows for deeper and broader natural patient care.
The two lines on the chart have a great significance. The "Nurturing Relationship" line is the solid black line and it is best compared to a mother and her child. A mother provides energy to fortify the growth and health of her child. An example of nurturing or "generation" is the relationship between the Kidney and the Liver. Kidney generates Liver.
The "Cooperative Relationship" is the dashed line and represents a relationship that acts as a restraining energy or force, making sure that things do not grow out of balance. Without cooperation or support, things would fall out of proportion.

Another @fondling_rocks #tiptuesday with progressions for #sidelever or #humanflag
Side lever for me is mostly in the bottom shoulder pushing myself as far away as possible from whatever apparatus I'm doing it on.
First progression you want push away and protract your shoulder as much as possible. I focus on protracting so hard that my bottom shoulder starts to position itself in front of my body. This will help in later progressions when you start to rotate your chest out.
Second progression is a great way to teach yourself to simultaneously press with your bottom arm while pulling with your top. Make sure you're not pulling with your bicep causing your arm to bend. Instead pull with your scapula.
This progression will help you learn to push yourself as far away from the wall as possible with your bottom shoulder. You will use your top arm/scapula to pull as well although most of the work will be done by the bottom arm/shoulder. The upper arm will take on more load the closer you are to parallel, really just keeping you from dropping below parallel.
The 2nd to last progression is aimed at incrementally exposing yourself to more and more time in the flag position.
Let me know if you have any questions!
